Gefesselt von den Geschichten, lasen Jonas und Lena von der Mühle und ihrer Bedeutung für das Dorf, von den Menschen, die dort gearbeitet hatten, und von einem stillen Helden, der in Zeiten der Not geholfen hatte, ohne je Anerkennung zu suchen. Innerhalb der Mauern dieser alten Mühle hatten einfache Dorfbewohner in schweren Zeiten zusammengehalten und große Solidarität gezeigt.
Jonas und Lena erkannten, dass das wahre Geheimnis der alten Mühle die unermessliche Menschlichkeit war, die sie in ihrer langen Geschichte beherbergt hatte. Begeistert von ihrer Entdeckung, entschieden sie sich dazu, die Geschichten zu teilen und die alte Mühle zu einem Ort der Begegnung für das ganze Dorf zu machen.
