Abuses of MEV
BhatMmohsinAbuses of MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) include front-running, back-running, and sandwich attacks, where miners or validators manipulate transaction order for profit. In front-running, they insert their transaction before a pending one to benefit from subsequent price movements. Back-running involves placing a transaction immediately after a target transaction to capitalize on price changes. Sandwich attacks bracket a target transaction with two others to exploit price slippage. These practices increase transaction costs, erode trust, and harm market fairness. Efforts to mitigate MEV abuses include developing more transparent transaction mechanisms and improving network protocols to protect users.
